Desert Scenic Tours is a locally owned tour company based in Swakopmund, taking guests into and around the Namib Desert with guides who have well over eight years behind them.
Their best-known trip is the Living Desert tour, a half-day search through the coastal dune belt for the small creatures that most visitors walk straight past — geckos, chameleons, sand-diving lizards, sidewinders, beetles and spiders — with time on the dunes and an explanation of how the sand itself moves and shifts.
Alongside the day tours they run longer trips, including a Cape to Namib safari.
